In this race pack, you will find your race number, electronic timing chip and important race information. Please take a few minutes to read this information. Location

Sledmere House is located 7 miles northwest of Driffield. Postcode for Sat Nav YO25 3XG

Parking

We will be using the large ‘Pig Pen’ car park that we used last time for the 2019 race. Please do not attempt to park in the main car park by the entrance to Sledmere House. Instead, follow the race car park signs and marshals who will direct you to the correct parking area. Parking is free of charge.

Race HQ

There will be a Race Village located In front of Sledmere House, opposite the start/finish area. This will include Fun Run & Trail Taster registration & number collection desk, light refreshments outlet, portable toilets, massage service,  sponsors desk, First Aid and Great Driffield Radio.

Facilities

Sledmere House gift shop and Cafe will both be closed on the night. The main toilets by the main entrance will be open as well as portable toilets by the race start/finish area. Note: As the event is held within the grounds of a stately home, it’s imperative that only these toilet facilities are used and no ‘au naturel’ alternatives are sought. Please come ready to run as no changing facilities are provided.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome at Sledmere House. However, they must be kept on a lead at all times. Any dog poo must be cleared and placed in the bins within the grounds.

Race Course and Finish

Both the Fun Run and Trail Taster 3.6km start and finish in front of Sledmere House. The 10K starts a couple of hundred metres along the path from Sledmere House. Its only takes 5 minutes to walk down there. Note: The start area for the 10K is quite narrow, so get to the start a little ahead of time if you prefer to be near the front when the race begins. However, as it’s chip timed, your positioning at the start makes no difference to your finish time. The 10K finishes in front of Sledmere House too. Due to a new fence within the grounds, there is an enforced small change to the first loop of the 10K (which is also the Trail Taster 3.6km course). Just follow race the signs. There will be a lead bike on the 10K and a sweeper runner/walker at the rear.

Water stations / Post Race Snacks

There are two water stations on the course. One is located near to the finish area, which is also available at the end of the first loop of the course. The second water station is located at the top end of the course. At the end of the race,  there are flapjacks and bananas available.

Finishers Medals

We have changed the design of the 2020 10K finishers medals. Now made locally on Driffield, these large acrylic medals not only look great but they’re a little more friendly to the environment too. The fabulous Fun Run and Trail Taster 3.6km finisher cast medals are recycled from the previous event in 2019, but with new ribbons.

10K Prizes

Prizes will be awarded on the night to the 1st,  2nd & 3rd placed male and female finishers as well as 1st & 2nd ‘under 18 male and female runners. All other age category prizes with be posted out after the event.

Pre/Post Race Massage

Barry Kitching will be once again providing a massage service for runners. He only asks for a donation for his service. All monies raised will be donated to a charity. Barry can give more details of the charity.

Sponsors

Nicola Amidulla Mortgages Ltd is the new main race sponsor this year. A keen runner herself, Nicola has been a member of Driffield Striders running club for many years. Now the owner of her own successful company, Nicola was keen to sponsor our event. We are very pleased to have her on board and are confident that it will be a great partnership. Nicola Amidulla Mortgages will have a gazebo at the event and will be able to help people who have any mortgage related questions.

We also have Wolds Way to Health Fitness Club sponsoring the race numbers and Driffield & Wolds Weekly newspaper sponsoring the Children’s Fun Run. The post race flapjacks are being provided by Morrisons.

We hope you have a fantastic evening and enjoy the event. We are super excited to see you all and hope the weather is kind to us this year. In the meantime, any questions should be sent to info@driffieldstriders.co.uk

See you on race day!
